Lede en vriende van die Crocodile River Mountain Bewaringsgebied het Saterdag by die Malelane Rolbalklub aan ‘n fondsinsamelingskompetisie deelgeneem. Die doel was om geld in te samel om stropery in die bewaringsgebied teen te werk. Ten spyte van die reënerige weer was dit groot pret vir jonk en oud.
Die jaarlikse Buffalo Spring Festival was hierdie jaar nog groter en lekkerder, met puik vermaak en heerlike kos. Onderbergers, Laevelders en kuiergaste van heinde en verre het tot vroeg Sondagoggend by die Buffalo Hotel in Hectorspruit saamgekuier.
Great weather, camaraderie, challenging routes and beautiful scenery made Saturday’s Nkomazi MTB Challenge a great success. A total of 450 cyclists competed in the Mpumalanga Marathon Series event, hosted by Laerskool Malelane.
The first and second teams of Malelane proved too tough for the visiting teams from Barberton during a league match-up on Saturday. The Olifante utilised their speed and some great teamwork to get and keep the upper hand.
Riverview Prep School in Malalane was crowded with enthusiastic u/7 and u/8 hockey players from all over the Ehlanzeni region on Saturday. The school hosted their annual hockey festival aimed at developing future hockey stars. The players had lots of fun.
Co-workers teamed up to create delicious potjie dishes for The Local Market’s potjiekos competition on Saturday. Lex Hollmann from Malelane SUPERSPAR, Joy Jones from Duck ‘n Dive Saloon and Chanelle de Kock from Riverview Preparatory School were the judges.
Malelane Rugby Club’s second team were victorious in their match-up against Ngodwana in Malalane on Saturday. The tough match resulted in several injuries but the players were determined not to give up. The final score was 24-20 in Malelane’s favour.
Die jaarlikse fees in Komatipoort het gepoog om die hele gemeenskap oor drie dae verlede week te vermaak. Daar was, onder meer, puik kunstenaars op die verhoog elke aand, Moholoholo het mense oor roofvoëls en jagluiperds ingelig en daar was ook die jaalrikse piesangtroskompetisie onder plaaslike boere.
Deelnemers het Saterdagoggend verfbesmeer maar met breë glimlagte die byna 5km van die CMR se Colour Run voltooi. Die prettige geleentheid het by die Komatipoort Skougronde begin en eindig, met die roete wat deur die dorp gekronkel het.
Winning teams, best players and officials, as well as supporters, were rewarded for their efforts to make their year’s Selati Cup soccer tournament even bigger and better. The Awards ceremony was held at the Malelane Golf Club on Friday right and the MEC for Culture, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Selati Cup legend Lucas Thwala, as well as stakeholders were among the attendees.
