Nkomazi Hustle releases thrilling new film

Community members watch the movie's first screening.

KAMHLUSHWA – Nkomazi Hustle Productions launched the proudly local film Lifa Lami (My inheritance) at KaMhlushwa Community Hall on November 25.

This is the company’s second movie – the first, Sala Kutjelwa Sibona Ngemopho, was released in 2015. Over 400 copies were sold.

Lifa Lami was produced by Nkomazi Hustle Productions, in association with SNTT and was written by Joseph Makuwa.

The movie is about a family’s eldest son, who plots to kill his father to get his inheritance. After his death, the son finds out that he is not in the will and tries to get closer to his younger brother, the actual heir.

Shot on location in Tonga, Komatipoort and Malalane, the movie premiered during a big bash on Saturday.

The Nkomazi Hustle Productions team said they aim to take the movie to the silver screen.

“With the first movie we managed to sell copies on the street. This time we want to submit it to be screened on television. We have been in contact with people, sent them a trailer and they liked it. We’re going to see them in person to negotiate as we need funds for more equipment, salaries for our cast, etc. We need sponsors as we sometimes have to dig in our own pockets for funds,” said Skhumbuzo Mbalati, the coordinator.
