The Big 5 MTB Race in Komatipoort proved as popular as ever, with hundreds of cyclists competing for podium places last Saturday morning. Cyclists from all over the country and even a few from overseas participated.

Malelane Rugbyklub se eerstespan het Saterdag ‘n naelbytstryd teen die Laeveld Pumbas van Hoedspruit gehad. Die spanne het omtrent beurte gemaak om drieë te druk, maar die Pumbas het op die ou einde met slegs ‘n paar punte geseëvier.

The Selati Cup’s top performers are rewarded

Players, sponsors ad partners of this year’s Selati Cup were thanked for their efforts in making this year’s tournament even bigger and better. The best players in various categories were also announced and received prizes.

Rugby: Malelane II vs Ngodwana

Malelane Rugbyklub se tweedespan het Saterdagmiddag Ngodwana aangevat in ‘n ligawedstryd op Malalane. Ngodwana het in die eerste helfde twee drieë gedruk en een verdoel. Malelane het na rustyd teruggeveg met ‘n puik verdoelde drie. Ngodwana het egter na ‘n onverdoelde drie gedruk vir ‘n wentelling van 7-17.

Malelane pak die Ratels en Belfast in taai stryd aan

Saterdagmiddag het die rugbyspelers van Malelane hard moes veg vir elke punt wat hulle teen die rugbyspanne van Ohrigstad en Belfast behaal het. Die tweedes moes die knie buig teen Belfast, maar die eerstes het ‘n oorwinning teen die Ratels van Ohrigstad behaal.

Olifante face Impalas on their home field

The Olifante of Malelane Rugby Club took on the Impalas Rugby Club of Komatipoort on Saturday for their second clash of the season. Both teams exhibited some great rugby but the match was cut short.

Malalane youngsters compete in friendly winter sport matches

Beacon College, Horizon Academy and Riverview Prep pupils had lots of fun during friendly netball and soccer matches on Monday afternoon. Although some of the tiny netball players were unsure of all the rules and the pole measured about four times their height, they were very enthusiastic and learned a lot. The soccer match was action-packed.
