Tonga SAPS’ female officers show their muscle during operation

TONGA – Female police officers led by Cpt Delisile Magagula proved they were a formidable force even without the extra muscle of their male counterparts during a special Women’s Month operation in the area last Thursday.

The officers arrested seven people for possession of dagga and 10 for failing to comply with the Road Traffic Act.

When a suspect at a roadblock in Magudu tried to run away with a bag of dagga, the women gave chase.

The suspect ran to a house and when he found the door left open, locked himself inside. The homeowners were not there.

The officers then had to use their tactical knowledge to get the suspect out of the house before he could be arrested.

Tonga station commander, Brig Velisiwe Mdaka applauded her members for a job well done.
